Of all natural disasters, I have always been the most afraid of earthquakes. Funny... since I moved to one of the most earthquake-prone parts of the country! I just looked online, and in the last 7 days there have been 100 earthquakes within about 75 miles of where I live. CRAZY!
Luckily almost all of these have been too small to feel, but occasionally I wonder if I just felt an earthquake or a big truck driving by.
Living here has actually helped me to be less afraid of them though. People who live here have such a relaxed attitude about these 'quakes. In my mind I think they are always such horrible disasters (which we have all seen recently that they definitely can be), probably because of all the talk of "the big one" that will happen in Utah.
But at least I know for now I can handle the small ones. I would much rather have the ground shake a little than have my house flooded or flattened by a tornado... but hopefully none of the above will ever happen!

I never really think about natural disasters unless I see or hear about them happening somewhere else. Then when I do hear about them I feel like I need to be better prepared so I work on food storage and 72 hour kits for like a week and then forget.
