Awesome Weekend

This weekend was one of the busiest I've had in a long time, but it was a good kind of busy!

FRIDAY

I drove out to my old stomping grounds from last year and went to the Redlands temple.  The weather was so gorgeous that I couldn't pass up taking a few pictures.  

 I had to make a stop at a one of my favorites... DSW... and got some flipflops and a cute wallet.  All on clearance of course!

Friday night my Redlands friends came out my way to see the BYU Young Ambassadors show, which was really good!

SATURDAY

I woke up bright and early and met my ward at 7:30 am to go to San Diego.  We carpooled down to the Mormon Battalion Visitor's Center which was surprisingly really... fun! I don't think I've ever used that word to describe a visitor's center before, but it's true.

 

We spent the rest of the afternoon walking around Old Town San Diego.  It's such a fun atmosphere with street fairs, shops, donkeys... I felt like I was dropped straight into Mexico (... although I've never been there, but it's what I imagine Mexico to be)!

On our drive back we stopped to walk around the San Diego temple and went to Deseret Book, then made a stop at a friend's house in Escondido.

{I had to throw this one in... gas was SO expensive in S.D.!!}

The whole day was amazing with perfect weather.  I tried mangoes with chili powder and lime, got my first sunburn of the year, bought chocolate covered cinnamon bears at the old fashioned candy shop, made new friends, and had lots of laughs.

SUNDAY

Today church was really good.  I got to teach the lesson in Relief Society on adversity.  As always, I probably got more out of the lesson than anyone else did!  We had a Break the Fast feast after church with delicious food, and then watched the CES fireside at the Bishop's house tonight.  

It's been a busy weekend but I've loved every second of it!
