My Internship

As of yesterday, I am officially DONE with my internship! I can't believe it has gone by so fast. I have been working at a speech clinic in Holladay since June 2. It was a really good experience to have my own clients that I could work with and see progress with. One of the best parts of this experience was a 5-day intensive stuttering therapy program for a group of about 12-15 kids. Each day we went on outings to the mall, the zoo, the planetarium, and a pizza restaurant so that they could practice the techniques they learned in the real world. We also had therapy at the office where they learned techniques and practiced them in the comfort of our small groups. It was so fun to get to know these kids (from 5-18 years old) and to have lots of fun with them. Yesterday we ended the program with a BBQ up Big Cottonwood Canyon and I got to meet all their families. There were kids from as far as California, a couple from rural Utah, and most were from the SLC valley. I'm just glad that I completed all my required hours, and to top it off, I got an 'A' from my supervisor!!!
