Every four years my extended Dahl family gets together for a big reunion. This is all of "the brothers" (my grandpa and his 5 brothers) and their children and grandchildren that get together, so it's a pretty big group! So this was the year for our reunion. It was more simple this year... we all met at the Murray Stake Park/Pavilion instead of traveling away. On Thursday night it started with a BBQ and getting to know each other again. I couldn't make it on Friday morning because of work, but everyone else had a golfing tournament and went swimming. I made it in the afternoon to the Road Rally. This was like a big scavenger hunt, but it was spread out across the valley, so each car was a group. Each place that we had to find had something to do with the Dahl family, so this was a fun way to get to know our family history! Every picture had to have at least 2 team members in it, but each picture had to have a different combination of people in it. For more points, you could also take pictures of other team members if 2 teams were at the same place at the same time. It was really fun! My team was made up of me, my dad, my aunt Rhea, and my 2nd cousins Whitney and Brianna. Here are my team's pictures from the road rally, but once again they are from my cell phone so they're not that great. Sorry there are so many!

Alexander Dahl and Ellen Dahl are my great-great-great-grandparents and are buried at the Murray City Cemetery.

The entrance to the old JHS (now Jordan Commons). My grandpa and his brothers all went to the Jordan High. Go Beetdiggers!

Midvale Junior High School, where several of the brothers went to school.

Paul Alexander Dahl and Esther Craven Dahl are my great-grandparents and are buried in the Midvale Cemetery.

My grandpa lived in this house when he was a teenager. It used to be in Midvale, but was moved to 90th south in Sandy.

The Les Schwab store in Midvale on 72nd south, where my grandpa's house used to be.

Archibald (of the Archibald's Restaurant at Gardner Village) was my great-grandparents' LDS bishop for nearly 30 years!

This is my Grandma Dahl's grave (my dad's mom). She is buried in Midvale, across from Gardner Village.

The old Alexander Dahl Meat Market, which is now the old liquor store in Midvale!

The Alexander Dahl baseball field in Midvale, which was filmed as the nice field in the movie "The Sandlot"!

This was an LDS church in Midvale where my great-grandma's funeral was held and my great-uncle Alan's wedding reception was!
...
Whew! If you are still reading this, I'm impressed! That was a lot of pictures, but it was fun! That night, we had dinner and a talent show. The highlight of the night was "Cousin Cletus" and "Craig the Peg" gracing us with their presence!
Cousin Cletus introducing his "O.B.C.D. - Organization for the Benefit of Cletus Dahl" plan... better known as "obesity!"
Craig the Peg with his 3 legs and all!
