Last Saturday my friend Christina (who lives in Monterey) and I met up in San Francisco to check out the Exploratorium museum. I had absolutely no idea what it even was beforehand, but I had so much fun! It's a huge hands-on science museum and there were so many really cool experiments to do! And we got there just as it opened, so there were no crowds and we could do everything we wanted.
This one looks a little creepy, but it was one of my favorite exhibits in the museum. The camera takes a picture of you and then shows you as two left sides and as two right sides. Crazy!
Playing drums along with the Beatles...
After the museum we went to Bistro Boudin for lunch. This place is known for their sourdough breads (in the picture below), which I typically don't love. But I had shrimp tacos in sourdough tortillas and they were amazing!
Christina and her friend already had a reservation to go to Alcatraz, but by the time I tried to get my ticket, the tour was already sold out. Bummer! Alcatraz is really so awesome... I'll have to go another time.
I snapped this picture on my way out of the city, stuck in traffic. I don't think I'll ever get over the amazing bridges around San Francisco.
And finally I had to stop for gas about 20 miles out of the city if I wanted to make it home. Here's proof of how expensive gas was... I couldn't believe it!! One good reason to live outside of the big city... gas in my town is about $0.30 cheaper, but still too expensive. And just moments after this, I stubbed my toe and somehow cut up my toe and ripped my big toenail. Not fun. What a memorable end to my day! I even took a picture of that event too, but don't worry, I won't post that one for all to see. Anyway, it was such a fun day. I always love exploring San Francisco!

Sounds like a fun trip! So I have a similar toe story. I ran over my foot with a shopping cart wearing sandals. I think I broke my toe! (Its the ring toe.) It all swollen and blue and purple. Hope yours heals quickly!
