A Crazy Fun Weekend

I'll admit, usually my weekends are not much to talk about. But this last weekend was packed with lots of fun!

FRIDAY (sorry no pictures):
-I attended the baptisms of two girls that will be in my ward. I'm always amazed and impressed that about half of the members of my ward here are converts to the church!
-Enjoyed frozen yogurt at Nubi with my friend Kati. I love these new frozen yogurt places that are everywhere!
-Met up with some other friends at Chipotle... we just watched them eat but enjoyed the company!
-Saw "How to Train Your Dragon" and seriously loved it!

SATURDAY:
-Got up early to run some errands (that's saying a lot for me not to sleep in on a Saturday!)
-Met Kati and drove to the BEACH!!!
-Every ear my ward has a "Bike to the Beach" activity. for those who want to bike, the furthest distance is 30 miles, but there are checkpoints along the way. The bikers all left early in the morning, but Kati and I had to get some things done in the morning (and I don't even own a bike). We got to the beach at about 2:30 and joined in on the fun! We didn't wear our swimsuits but I glad because it was cold and windy!
Some highlights of the beach trip were... walking along the pier, seeing/hearing the protesters fighting for legalized marijuana (gotta love California), experiencing a beach sunset and a bonfire for the first time, roasting hot dogs and marshmallows, laughing at the "24 minute parking" signs along the streets, getting tar stuck on the bottom of my bare foot, and just enjoying everyone's company!

SUNDAY:
-Finally got to sleep in a little
-Went to church
-Taco salad dinner at my friend Leslie's
-Carpooled to a fireside in Riverside that everyone struggled staying awake in! I don't know if it was the speaker or the fact that I was in the sun the whole day before, but it was really hard to focus on what the speaker was saying!
