I drove down from Pocatello on Friday to move back for the summer and stopped on the way at my sister Heidi's house. We spend the day shopping at Tai Pan, digital scrapbooking, and watching "So You Think You Can Dance." It can't get much better than that! I ended up staying overnight there and the rest of my family came up on Saturday morning. We went to Hill Air Force Base in Roy and went to the Hill Aerospace Museum. I went there once before when I was in elementary school, but I didn't remember hardly anything from that trip, and didn't know quite what to expect. But when we got there, it was pretty cool to look at all the airplanes on display. We were outside the museum looking at this massive airplane that was named after Jake Garn. For those of you who haven't heard of him, he was a fighter pilot in the Utah Air National Guard, he was a senator for Utah, and he also has made a trip up into space. Well, as we were looking in awe at this huge airplane that he was the pilot of, we looked ahead, and he was standing right there! So my dad started talking to him, and he took the time to talk to us all and tell us some stories about the plane. He said that he had been to the museum several times, but didn't have any pictures of his plane and wanted one, so that's why he was there! He had actually set up a reunion for all of the fighter pilots he flew with back in the day. He was very nice and funny and had us all laughing by the time he left. It was a crazy coincidence that we were there at the same time! After going through the museum, we headed back to my sister's house for a barbecue and kicked the soccer ball around. Back in Sandy that night, my brother Jon and I went to go see "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull." I was really excited to see this because I love the Indiana Jones movies. Now that I've seen it, I don't know how I feel about it. I don't want to say anything about the movie for those of you who haven't seen it, but I guess to sum it up I thought it had really good classic Indy creepy crawly bugs and critters and good action, but I didn't like the concept that the movie was actually about. That probably doesn't make much sense if you haven't seen it, but when you do see it, you'll have to let me know how you like it. On Memorial Day, we headed down to Thanksgiving Point to go to the petting zoo there with my sister Lori and her family. The problem was, it was raining so hard when we left home! But by the time we got to see the animals, it had kind of died down, and it was still fun to be walking around outside. We fed the goats corn out of our hands, went on a tractor ride, and saw lots of animals. My niece Brooklyn loved it there! It was so fun watching her run around screaming and having a good time. I'm kind of bummed I didn't get any pictures of her excitement!(This picture cracks me up!)
