March Resolutions - Update

1. Lose weight.
This month I really wanted to make sure I lost weight each week, not just for the overall month.  Some weeks were close, but I did it!  This month I lost 8 pounds and 3 inches.

2. Exercise 90 miles this month (can be running, biking, elliptical, etc).
At the beginning of the month, I asked my sister-in-law Emilee if she wanted to join me in this challenge.  She instantly said, "why don't we make it 100 miles?  That just sounds better!"  So before I knew it, this goal increased from 90 to 100 miles.  I knew it would be hard for me, but attainable.  I had to go about 4 miles a day, 6 days a week to make it.  I missed a few days, and did a little extra some days, but I made it!  I exercised 100.21 miles this month (48.82 run/walk, 22.95 elliptical, 28.44 bike)!

I decided that I like doing a miles challenge better than a minutes challenge, because I push myself harder.  Sure, I could workout for 30 minutes but not break a sweat.  But if I know I need to go 4 miles, I'll want to get it done as fast as I can so I'm usually dripping sweat by the time I'm done!  I do have to say I'm SO glad this is over.  I'm ready to do some other workouts that don't involve counting miles on a machine!

3. Do Name Indexing each Sunday.
I could've been better at this... I only did it 2/4 Sundays, but then I got much more into it this last week.  I discovered there is an app so I can do it on my phone!  I indexed 205 names this month (and I also did 105 on my phone).  I think I want to make a goal for a specific number next month.

4. Attend the temple at least once.
I went to the Sacramento temple on Saturday the 24th.  After that trip, I can now say I've been inside all 7 of the temples in California (see Redlands, Los Angeles, Newport Beach, San Diego, Fresno, Oakland, and Sacramento)!

5. Read one book, listen to one audio book.
This month I re-read (for the 3rd time) The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins... to prepare for the movie, of course:

and I listened to Born to Run by Christopher McDougall (which definitely made me want to be a better runner):

6. Keep apartment clean
While I love having a clean apartment, sometimes cleaning is the last thing I want to do when I get home from work.  I usually leave cleaning to Saturdays, but I tried to break it up so it wouldn't be such a big task.  Here's what I've been trying to implement this month:
-Mondays: take trash out
-Tuesdays: clean bathroom
-Wednesdays: vacuum/sweep floors
-Thursdays: clean kitchen
-Saturdays: laundry
-Daily: dishes & general clean-up
