February Resolutions - Update

1. Lose weight.
Oh boy, with Valentine's Day chocolates and being in vacation mode while my parents were here, this month was tough.  But I did end up losing 4.2 pounds and .25 inches.  It's not much, but at least I can say I met my goal!

2. Complete Jillian Michaels' Ripped in 30.
I didn't quite finish, but I got through 3 of the 4 workouts... they are brutal!  I somehow injured my heel, but I was able to exercise an extra 11.6 miles too (8.6 run/walk, 3.0 elliptical).

3. Read Book of Mormon every day.
This is obviously something I needed to work on since I made it a goal.  Let's just say I still need to work on it!

4. Attend the temple at least once.
While my parents were here, we decided to do a session at the Oakland temple before they left.  So on Wednesday the 22nd we spent some time there before they flew back to Utah.  It was clear and about 70 degrees and beautiful!

5. Read one book, listen to one audiobook.
I'm almost done reading Scott Westerfeld's Specials (and I can't decide if I'm going to read the next book... I am ready to be done with this series!)

And this month I listened to Harry Potter #6... I just LOVE these audiobooks!

6. Do a craft project.
I got this idea from Pinterest, of course!   This jewelry hanger started as a kitchen utensil tray.  I spray painted it white, screwed in some hooks, attached a picture hanger to the back, and that was it!  This was kind of an experiment, so I don't really love how it turned out (mostly that it's too small for my jewelry), but it was fun to make anyway!

7. Do taxes.
Last year was the first time I did my taxes myself.  It's actually not hard at all and I am much more aware of how it all works now.  This month I started on them, but will finish in March!

8. Start to learn Spanish.
I was so excited about this one!  I signed up to take a beginner's conversational Spanish class at the junior college here, but then I realized I had a conflict so I had to drop it.  Then I was told about the Pimsleur program which I started last week.  I can listen to the lessons on CD in my car and they are great!  It's a lot of basic conversation I already knew but I feel like I'm getting more comfortable with the language.

I love your jewelry holder! I might need to make one of those... It's way better then putting tacks in the wall. I'm just about done with Harry Potter 5. I'm so excited to move on to #6. They're the best, aren't they?

I did Pimsleur for Japanese when I thought I was going to Japan. Though audiolingual programs aren't ideal, I liked it. LOVE the jewelry hangar.
