Draper Temple

Two weeks ago (on Feb. 21) I went to the Draper Temple open house with my friend Gina. The temple is so beautiful! I really enjoyed it and could feel the spirit there. It was so crowded though! I later heard that it was the busiest day so far on that day we went.

Then on February 23 my stake in Sandy was in charge of hosting the open house all day. So we had hundreds of volunteers there to make it run smoothly. My part in it all was playing the piano. After people walked through the temple, they came into a church for cookies and water. They could also look at artwork and leave comments about what they thought of the open house. I was playing in this church and I really enjoyed seeing everyone as they left the temple. One of my favorite parts of the day was when I got there at about 7:30 am before any of the tours started. My dad took my mom and I around on a quick tour of the temple. It was neat to have that personal tour with just the three of us... it was completely opposite from my experience a few days before!
There are some really MASSIVE houses around the temple:

This green house is my favorite:

It's pretty cool that you can see 2 other temples from the Draper temple. The Oquirrh Mountain temple is still under construction, so it's harder to see than the Jordan River temple. Gina and I counted that there are probably 6 temples within a 30-40 minute drive of our neighborhood in Sandy!

I like the last picture where you labeled the other temples. Is that your handwriting that you made into a font? It's cool!

Yeah it's my handwriting! You can actually download it (not that you necessarily want my handwriting) and a bunch of other ones at

(just look for "Natalie"). She doesn't make fonts anymore, but I'm sure there are lots of places that do.

Man, some of those houses are waaaayy too big for my taste. Imagine all the dusting! Oh but the green one is really nice. I like it a lot.

Let's do lunch!! When are you going to be around again?

That's awesome that you got to help out with that! Way to be! And those houses are HUGE! Although, two of them look like they are empty. That's crazy.
