So far, I like my job this year a MILLION times better than last year.
My elementary school is very diverse... here's what I mean: last year the students were 60% Hispanic, 14% African American, 14% Caucasian, 7% Asian, and 4% Filipino.
I love some of the names that these kids have, like Pablo, Sebastian, Daychenay, Jayani, Taneth, Shaheed, Shahmir, Romy, Diego, Cammar, Francisco. Many of these kids have the attitude to go right along with their names!
I seriously think all the little kids are so adorable! I work with Preschool through 6th grade kids, so it's a good mix. Most kiddos LOVE coming to speech and beg me to come take them out of class... they ask if they can come every single day, but unfortunately I have to say no!
And kids say the funniest things... some that I've heard this week:
- To me: "You're pretty. I think white girls are pretty. But God made us all the same."
-About my speech room: "I hope this can be my office when I grow up."
-"When you litter it's called litterbotching. You don't want to be a litterbotcher."

Ha ha, kids are hilarious! I'm glad you are enjoying your job, it sounds like you are having a blast in CA.
